• Prayer IS the Principle

A look at the 4th Principle of Unity.

(From the talk given at Unity of Chattanooga Oct. 2014)

    Prayer

    Prayer

This has been an amazing time for me in terms of my own personal, spiritual journey moving from the fears of the ego to the victory of the soul. I really had to trust the process given to me by the Holy Spirit and stay open to Divine Guidance.

I thought I would only find peace if I practiced peace. So I focused on my daily lessons and meditation and music, all the things that usually get me on the right track, and keep my mind and heart open. It is very important to stay open and alert to the Spirit.

To keep practicing what I believe is the most important element in living a spiritual life, Faith: The Bible says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb.11:1) and also… “We walk by Faith, not by sight” (2Cor. 5:7)

There is only one mind, and it is always available to stay in the flow of that divine communication… that field of energy we sometimes call The Holy Spirit.

The Fourth Principle of Unity is about stepping into that higher vibration to bring about a shift in consciousness in order to commune with God. We believe that peace in the world must begin with peace within. Inner Peace. So Peace begins with Faith, and Faith put into action through prayer!

The Soul is always ready to learn new things, lead me to deeper understanding of spiritual principles and introduce me to new and wonderful souls who are furthering the cause of Inner Peace and Spiritual growth worldwide…

To better understand the fourth principle we have to take a look at the first three:

Number one: “God is Absolute Good, everywhere present.” I learned it this way… “There is only one power and one presence active in the Universe and in my Life, God, the Good, the Omnipotent. Now this is a fact God is Love, God is absolute good, it is always the same all the time and everywhere present. You cannot change a universal principle.

Number two: “Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ Spirit within. Their very essence is of God and therefore they are also inherently good.” (I think that speaks for itself.)

Number three: “Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.”
One version of this has been said this way: We are co-creators with God, creating our reality through the thoughts we hold in our mind.

Number four: Prayer…. “ Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-mind, and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything good”
Another popular way of saying this is: Through Prayer and meditation we align our hearts and minds with God. Through the use denials and affirmations we increase our awareness of God.

Do we use denials in our prayers, yes, we claim that this appearance has no power over me in my life. God the Good is the only power. We have to deny the circumstances any power to change our divine nature in which God created us. We have to turn away from limitation and accept the abundance flowing from the Universe. We have to turn away from hate and judgment and separation and Claim our Oneness with all Humankind. We turn instead toward the truth in us as created by a loving God and affirm His blessings, not just for ourselves, but for every Brother and Sister everywhere. “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1John 4:4

We can look at the fourth principle as a call to action, spiritual action. Applying the power of God in our own creative thought. Whatever thoughts you hold in your mind is your reality… (principle three) So let’s hold the thoughts of oneness, of joy, of prosperity and Peace and of Love in our hearts… and have faith that the Universal Mind of God dwells in us and will work its miracles through us if we let it.

For it is important to remember, as it says in Principle number five, “knowledge of these principles is not enough, we must live them !”
Putting the fourth principle to practical use through the use of affirmations is the way we focus our minds on our intention and allow Spirit to flow in every aspect of our lives.

So my Dear Ones, as we move from the fears of our ego to the victory of the soul I say to you, Go Forth form this place today shining in the peace and the presence of our Loving God !
